The Venture Mentoring Program will target potential high growth companies in Eastern Nebraska. High growth is defined as companies that expect to derive more than 75% of their revenue from outside Nebraska, and that target a market of at least $1 billion.
Process:
- Companies submit an online application to join the program
- Applications are reviewed by a Screening Committee
- If approved by the Screening Committee, companies are given an opportunity to make a 20 min presentation to a periodic meeting of the Mentors of the MVF Venture Mentoring Program
- Immediately following the presentation, the mentors vote whether the company should be accepted into the program. If so, a lead mentor would volunteer, and a mentor team (3-5 mentors) would be assigned
- Over the next 6-12 months, the mentor team will meet with the company, probably on a monthly basis, but details are determined by the mentor team. The lead mentor will oversee the process and determine interim milestones and milestones for “graduation” from the program. The company is expected to complete all work necessary to reach defined milestones before the next meeting, mentors just provide advice, oversight and an accountability process
- The goal of the Venture Mentoring Program is that the participating company will be in a position to successfully raise capital or otherwise get to the next level after the conclusion of the mentorship program.
The MVF Venture Mentoring Program is a non-profit program, and all participants are uncompensated volunteers.
